The Heywood Charities Fete is one of the biggest and the most long-standing event in the calendar of Heywood.  Organised by the Heywood Charities Fete Committee,  it traditionally takes place annually on the first Sunday in September and is supported by many local voluntary groups, organisations and local businesses.  It begins with a parade through the town centre of Heywood, followed by the Fete taking place at Queen's Park, Heywood.

Revenue from the Fete from the small gate entry charge is donated to local charities and groups to benefit a variety of deserving causes within the town.  In previous years, a share of revenue has been donated to many deservingHeywood Groups.  (See community News)

HEYWOOD CHARITIES FETE 2018 - Sunday 2nd September

Heywood Charities Fete was again a great success and well attended by thousands of families of Heywood who gathered on the streets to watch the entertaining parade through Heywood with numerous community groups, local businesses and organisations taking part including Blue Rose Gifts, Kats Dance, and many more. The parade ended at Queen’s Park which was filled with stalls from a variety of local charities and organisations including Heywood in Bloom, Little Monkeys, Heywood Lions, Crimble Croft.   Entertainment and activities for all ages were enjoyed. Heywood Veterans Association assisted by marshalling the Parade and Heywood Rotary Club provided stewards at the Fete.  Also enjoying the day were Heywood councillors; Liz McInnes MP Mayor & Mayoress of Rochdale Councillor Mohammed Zaman and Naaira Zaman.

Following the chosen theme of “animals", this year’s winners of float category were Kats Dance

All involved in the day put in a great deal of effort to contribute to a fantastic, memorable day for Heywood.

The Heywood Charities Fete Committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event.  A particular thank you to this year’s sponsors - Tesco Bags of Help, Heywood Township and Crown Oil.

Revenue from the Fete will be distributed to local charities at the AGM in February 2019 to directly benefit residents of Heywood.
