Many Heywood Charities have benefited from a donation of funding from the proceeds of the Heywood Charities Fete 2016 totaling £6000.    At The Heywood Charities Fete Committee AGM on Monday 13th February, groups gratefully received a cheque for their worthy cause,  each recipient explained how the money would make a significant difference to the valuable work of their Group in Heywood.  

 

The Mayor, Ray Dutton chaired the proceedings and presented  a cheque to The Friends of Queen’s Park, Roch Valley Raiders, Heywood Blind Welfare Society, 4th Heywood St Luke’s Brownies, 8th Heywood St Luke’s Scouts, 2301 Heywood Squadron  ATC, The Cellar Project, Heywood in Bloom,  Heywood Senior Section Guiding Group, Friends of Hopwood Park, Lancashire Veterans Association, St James’ Church, St Margaret’s Church, Crimble Croft Community Centre, Heywood Police Cadets, Heywood Fire Station (The Fire Fighters Charity), Heywood Lion’s Club, Churches Together, Sandon House, Heywood Food Bank, Rochdale Salvation Army.  Best Float Award was presented to Blue Rose Gifts.  2301 Heywood Squadron ATC received Best Walking Award.
